Chris Powell gets on the end of Ledley's King's failed back-pass to score the winner for Charlton, who rose to seventh place in the league after this fixture last season

Charlton are on a fine run of six games undefeated, having recovered from a dodgy start to the season. They have played Man City twice in those last six games, but were only able to draw their home game. Charlton have also drawn 1-1 at St. Andrews, so they will feel they have a really good chance at The Lane this Thursday.

When we played Charlton at home last season, it was on the back of three consecutive 4-0 defeats, and the confidence level amongst the players was at an all-time low. Although we were ninth, the Premiership pack was tight, and we needed to be aware of those behind us. This time we are on a five-game unbeaten run, had a morale-boosting away win at Maine Road, and we beat Charlton on their turf with a great battling performance. It is useful to remember that win, because it was a performance similar to that against Arsenal last week. If we can maintain this sort of effort, then we will win on Boxing Day and travel to Newcastle on Sunday full of confidence! I predict a 2-0 win for Spurs.
