How much do you love me?
How much do you love Tottenham Hotspur Football Club?
Hopefully, the answer is enough to make you visit The Lane of Dreams where you can currently buy an unsigned copy of Norman Giller's excellent book for the price of £12-50, before it is published on the wider market at a more expensive price. Moreover, if you quote yours truly "Paul Smith", then Spurs Odyssey will benefit from a little commission.Note that the discounted offer closes on July 10 when the book goes on sale in the shops with an unsigned copy at £18.95. Signed copies will go up to £30.
Norman Giller is a long-time Spurs fan and an experienced football journalist who has met some of the biggest names in Tottenham history, and who can count my all-time favourite Spurs player (Jimmy Greaves) as a personal friend. Indeed, Jimmy and Steve Perryman have both offered introductions to this excellent book, which covers the history of the club, a fan's perspective of some of the memorable events down the years, and includes some photographs rarely, or never seen before. For example, there is a fantastic picture of Jimmy Greaves flying past a defender to score his first goal at White Hart Lane. Unfortunately, the goal was for Chelsea, and the defender left on his backside was Maurice Norman!
So, if you buy the book, you will read some personal memories and insights of Greaves, Perryman and many other Spurs legends, as well as those of the author. A special quality about the book is the fact that it carries the special memories of many ordinary fans, such as you and me. (Well, I'm quoted anyway!)
Whatever Spurs books you have in your library, I can guarantee there will be something in "The Lane of Dreams" to add to your personal knowledge of the club we all love. The book is dedicated to memory of the great Bill Nicholson, whose thoughts were also captured by the author.
Buy it, and don't forget to mention "Paul Smith"! (Please)
