It was very early in the close season, and just after Spurs Odyssey had given the news of Luka Modric's arrival (ahead of the official announcement) that we told you the club was looking at Sporting Lisbon's ace central defender Miguel Veloso. The full story was published here:-

We also suggested that Samuel Eto'o might be on his way to Spurs too. Well, Eto'o is not coming, but the Veloso move could still come to fruition. The message boards have been alive with questions about whether or not Veloso would really come, and also there has been a lot of frustration/anxiety over the broadly telegraphed move of David Bentley from Blackburn to Spurs. Well, maybe one or both could happen this week? Who knows?
Just last week,we excited many thousands of you with this story:-

Well readers, after being e-mailed/messaged/bombarded with calls today, I feel more and more confident that the transfers of Andrei Arshavin and Diego Milito will be concluded very soon.
More than that I cannot say, but Spurs Odyssey is one of the TRUE sources of your Spurs information on the web.
Whilst we still await an official announcement of the departure of last year's hero Robbie Keane (next year's villain), his image has been removed from the Spurs Odyssey banner, which now resembles a scene from Space Odyssey. Arthur C. Clarke's story was always the inspiration for this site.
A week or so ago, I also laid into Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy with this report:-

On that occasion I suppose I laid into our Chairman somewhat, accusing him of speaking out too late regarding the approaches made to our star players. Well, now, in the knowledge that several top class replacements - even enhancements - are to be brought in to the club, I can forsee me making a public apology to Mr Levy later this week. I sincerely hope I do have to make such a comment about a man at the head of a club that just might have been acting very astutely throughout the summer with regards to transfers.
