I was saddened to learn that Del Deanus finally lost his battle for life and passed away on 14th November, 2012
Del Deanus was just 34 years-old when he was diagnosed with the devastating terminal illness Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Despite being told he has only between two to five years to live he is determined to keep enjoying life and to share his story.
As an outstanding youth footballer Del played for England schoolboys alongside Ryan Giggs and Nicky Barmby. He also spent four years playing for Tottenham Hotspur.
Del speaks honestly about his life, his football career, his loves, highs and lows and how he bravely copes with a disease that is slowly destroying his body.
He also investigates the possibility of a link between playing football and developing MND.
Memories Never Die is moving, funny, powerful and inspirational. Far from being a book about a young man dying it is a story of someone whose courage and fighting spirit will encourage others to make the most of life.
