Let's have another happy trip to the South coast!

The last time we played on the South coast, we beat Bournemouth 5-1 with a Harry Kane hat-trick, and some assistance from "Cherries"' goalkeeper Artur Boruc. We are unlikely to get such assistance tomorrow from whoever is between the sticks for Southampton, and it will be a far tougher, and highly charged game.

I say "whoever is between the sticks", because Ronald Koeman has used three of his four goalkeepers so far this season in the absence of first choice keeper Fraser Forster, who suffered a serious knee injury in March, and faces another four months out of action. Former Fulham guardian Maarten Stekelenburg has played 14 Premier League games, but missed last week's game. He may be fit tomorrow. Both veteran keeper Kelvin Davies and 23 year old Argentinean Paulo Gazzaniga have played one league game apiece. Gazzaniga played last week in "Saints"' 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace. Kelvin Davies played in the 2-2 home draw against Leicester.

The game will be highly charged because of Mauricio Pochettino's second return to the St. Mary's stadium, after Daniel Levy signed him up for Tottenham in the summer of 2014. "Poch" has yet to lose to his old team, beating them 1-0 in last year's home game and drawing 2-2 in April. Toby Alderweireld played against us that day, and his role then was to sit in front of the Southampton back four. Toby was on loan from Atletico Madrid, and "Saints"' fans must have been disappointed to lose him, especially to Tottenham, who have upset them several times down the years with the acquisition of players and a manager. Gareth Bale and Glenn Hoddle spring to mind. Alderweireld has been an ever present centre-back in our Premier League campaign, and a stalwart, scoring two goals to add to his defensive strength.

We are actually unbeaten in our last six league games against Southampton, and won five in a row until that draw in April. That represents all six games played since Southampton's return to the Premier League. Koeman has done a steady job since he took over from Pochettino, and qualified for The Europa League in seventh place last season. They lost out to Manchester United's next European opponents FC Midtjylland in the final quaifying round though.

The form of both these two teams in their last six games is not great. Spurs lost their unbeaten record last week, and have only won two of those recent games. They do remain unbeaten in their last six away Premier League games.

Southampton won the first two of their last six, but have now lost three of the last four. They have fallen to the bottom half of the table, but they are only five points behind us and have every incentive they need to win this game. Top scorer Pelle hasn't scored since their 2-0 win over Bournemouth the week after we had that 5-1 win, and goals have been generally hard to come by in recent games which include a horrible 6-1 league cup home defeat by Man City. Former Spur Steven Caulker (on loan from QPR) played in that game, and obviously did not excel. Caulker hasn't had much playing time this season, but I understand that Koeman is a "players' manager" who does encourage individuals in an appropriate manner.

We'll have to looK out for the likes of Tadic and Mane. The latter of these two is prone to fall over very easily as we have seen too often in games against Spurs.

It seems that the Spurs team news is not much different from last week. Mousa Dembele iss back in training, and "being assessed" today. Ryan Mason and Clinton N'Jie remain absent. If Dembele doesn't make it, I'd like to see Dele Alli beside Dier, with Son, Eriksen and Lamela behind Harry Kane.

We need to win as I said during the week, and I'd love to be optimistic, but I am predicting a 1-1 draw. I hope we come back from St. Mary's with more, of course.

Tomorrow's match referee will be Kevin Friend. We don't see too much of him these days, and this will be his first game in charge of a Spurs game this season. We last saw him in our 3-1 away win against Newcastle in April, the week before our last trip to Southampton.
