Is This the Best Spurs Team Ever?

Is This the Best Spurs Team Ever?

We often witness things that are regarded as highly improbable. An element of luck is often required, but you can’t know until you try, can you?! If you’re feeling lucky, perhaps the best thing to do is try your luck. Online casinos are places where people usually get lucky. Have a look here for some of the best online casinos and who knows, you might end up winning millions in a snap.

The Last 15 Years Haven’t Been Great

When you want to succeed in something, it is very important to be patient. One can’t say that Spurs fans haven’t been patient. Fortunately Tottenham’s most fierce rivals, Arsenal, haven’t been very successful lately either, but that can’t serve as an excuse. The only competitive title that the Spurs have won since the beginning of the new millennium is the League Cup in 2008.

In Pochettino We Trust!

With Mauricio Pochettino in charge, we have a completely different perspective. The team look and play like a unit and many claim it is a team destined for success. There was discontent at White Hart Lane after the 3rd place finish last year, but, more importantly, there was hope. Hope that Tottenham have finally secluded a place in the very top of English football. People know believe that this club will win titles.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino

A Team with Obvious Qualities

Ask fans what is the key factor that enabled Pochettino to build such a strong squad and you’ll probably hear different answers, but there is a general consensus on at least few points.

· Teamwork – All players communicate well on the pitch and understand each other. That is the main prerequisite for success in football;

· Strong belief – Although this may sound somewhat cheesy, it is 100% true. The players believe in themselves and their capacity as a team.

· High defence – Tottenham have conceded only 35 goals last season, one fewer than title rivals Arsenal and Leicester City. This year, they have conceded only 3 in the first 7 matches. Goal scoring is important, but defence is what wins titles, every expert will tell you that.

· Clinical attack – These players score goals and they score a lot of them. You will see them pushing forward even when they are three goals up and that shows that they have a champion mentality. Only Man City scored more goals than Tottenham last season.

One could say that there are no stars in this current Spurs team. Certainly, there is nobody like Gareth Bale in this team, but let us not forget that football is a team sport. You may have the best player in the world in your team and yet fail to win a title.

Spurs players celebrating again!

More than Few Great Players

Let alone that players like Kane, Rose, Alli and Lloris are indeed stars, it is far more important that there is a high level of team cohesiveness. And even if we have a look at the players individually, you’ll see that this squad might very well be the best Spurs team ever.

· Harry Kane is only 23 years old. He has so far scored 66 goals for Tottenham in 133 matches. An old-fashioned centre-forward and a prolific goal-scorer, his time is yet to come, even though he was the top EPL goal-scorer last season. Hopefully he’ll remain at the club and went on to become the best striker in the history of the club.

· Hugo Lloris has been named top EPL goalie on more than one occasion. He guards the goal of the French national team since 2008. Pochettino made him the club captain in 2015 and he is also the captain of his national team. Should we even say more?!

· Dele Alli is the rising star of English football. This 20-year old midfielder already secured his spot both at White Hart Lane and in the English national squad. He has already scored 12 goals for Tottenham. Bought for £5 million he might be one of Tottenham’s best acquisitions ever.

· Son Heung-min was reportedly on his way out of the club before the beginning of this season. He wanted more playing time and Pochettino decided to give him a chance. It turned out he was more than right to do so. He scored twice in the win against Stoke and then scored another double against Middlesbrough. We can surely expect more goals from him this season.

· Member of the club since 2007, Danny Rose established himself as a first time regular, after a series of loans. He was also included in the English national team for the Euro 2016. Rose for signed for a mere £1 million, more than 9 years ago. That was one pretty sound investment.

Then we also have Belgians Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembélé, and each of them plays a very important role for the club. We must not forget Frenchman Moussa Sissoko, new £30 million acquisition from Newcastle. If young Englishman Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen and Pochettino’s compatriot Érik Lamela give their best effort and play at least as well as they did last season, then success is imminent.

Tottenham Can Mount a Title Challenge This Year

An EPL Title this year will be the utmost and definite proof that this is a team that deserves to be named the best Spurs team of all time. Last year, Pochettino said that the players deserve to have statues of them erected if the club wins the league and we completely agree with him on that.
