Placing A Free Bet On Spurs

Placing A Free Bet On Spurs

The Premier League continues to provide some stunning action for sports fans. There are a number of sides that have kicked off the premier league season in fantastic form. These include the defending champions Manchester City and Liverpool who have yet to taste defeat.

However, going somewhat under the radar, are Tottenham. Despite the continued delays with the new stadium, coupled with not signing a single player in the summer, the club have made an exceptional start to the new Premier League season.

At the start of the campaign, many bookies out there didn’t fancy Spurs in the slightest. Odds as long as 50/1 were being offered for Spurs to win their first Premiership title, and many bookies were looking at ways of incentivising punters to back them. A number of free betting sites offered bonuses and free bets in an attempt to draw in punters towards a 50/1 shot, with many now shortening their prices to as short as 20/1 for a Spurs title tilt.

The Chelsea fixture at the weekend was an important fixture for the club, during which they showcased why they are one of the best sides in England currently. Chelsea entered the game as slight favourites (6/4), and had yet to lose a premier league game this season. Despite this, Spurs (2/1) looked a class above from the off, with Dele Alli playing a starring role - putting them 1-0 up after just eight minutes. Paddy Power were offering money back as a free bet on certain markets, if Dele scored first - so a good number of punters cashed in with very little of the match played.

The fantastic start continued, as Harry Kane was yet again on the score sheet, catching Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga unaware with an early strike from outside the box. This was yet another example as to why Kane is one of the most deadly strikers in world football. He has now scored seven premier league goals this season, putting him just one behind leaders Aguero and Aubameyang. It’s not just Harry's sheer weight of goals that’s impressive – it’s the fact that he can score all types of goals.

Those who used their free bet to back Tottenham would have breathed a sigh of relief when Son-Heung-Min found the net, following a brilliant solo effort. This was no more than he deserved, following his starring performance throughout the game – a 12/5 anytime scorer.

Giroud came off the bench to pull one back for Chelsea late on, and the game finished 3-1. This was a performance that sends a big message to the rest of the league that Spurs could yet challenge City for the title.

This performance is one they now must take into their next game, which is set to be the biggest of the season thus far. They welcome Inter Milan to Wembley Stadium, in what simply is a must-win game. Tottenham sit three points behind Inter with two games to play. The last is a difficult away trip to group leaders Barcelona, which further shows the task in hand for Spurs. They need to get a comprehensive victory against Inter if they are to have any chance of progressing through to the knock out stages of the competition. This sets up for a fascinating contest.

There are a number of tipsters out there who are backing Spurs to do the job against an in-form Internazionale. Why not use a free bet to back them at 8/11 to take the group to the final game, in the fortress that is the Camp Nou?
