'3 And In' - 14th January

The '3 and in' series is back after it's very own winter break! After some high-scoring Premier League matches over Christmas, we've decided to take an attack-minded view on all things factual and statistical this week.

Alongside some corking quotes, we give you some net-busting facts about Premier League goalscoring, and some step-over-tastic stats, to help you pick the players most likely to contribute to the attacking success of your fantasy football team.

Quotes

1. "It was a shock, I didn't expect it." - As the 7th manager to be given the boot by Newcastle in the last 10 years, and after winning just 2 of his last 13 games, Sam Allardyce must be the only person in the country to be 'shocked' that he got the sack.

2. "He is amazing. I admire his physical body" - Cesc Fabregas likes Cristiano Ronaldo, a lot.

3. "I think that it's because we've lost a few players. That's not an excuse, but it is." - Portsmouth coach Tony Adams tries not to make excuses for losing to Sunderland, and fails.

1. Over this season's 4 game Christmas period (22nd Dec - 2nd Jan), Tottenham scored more Premier League goals than any other club - hitting the onion bag 13 times (an astonishing average of 3.25 goals per game).
