Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2011-2012 - Match 29
Snap out of it Spurs!

Since the 5-0 drubbing of Newcastle on 11th February, when only one player scored less than 7 out of 10(and that was a substitute), the overall team performance in the 6 games since has been below par, averaging only 49.5%. In those 6 games, yes 6 games there have been only 5 individual scores of 7 out of 10 or more for the players involved.

Score ratio has averaged a little over 42% in those games, and significantly, Spurs are currently in the bottom 5 of the Premier League form table over the last 6 games, with only Liverpool, QPR, Bolton and Wolves below us. That is not Champions League form.

My simple Excel prediction programme has been forecasting Arsenal to finish above us for several weeks now, and only now have they overtaken us. Their trickiest remaining games are Man City and Chelsea at home. Once we've got Chelsea out of the way tomorrow (and a draw would be a great result for us), then arguably we have the best run-in. When Harry says that Arsenal will lose a game on the way, we have to hope he's right, but they are on a roll of 6 successive wins. We are at least still favourites to finish in the top four.

Spurs need to snap out of it and quickly!

Gareth Bale was your Spurs man of the match against Stoke this week.

Your comments included the following gems:-

"We are firing blanks at the moment"
"Friedel is like Dracula on crosses"
"Clearly running out of steam and ideas"
"King appears on the way out"
"King - grieves me to say this - O Ledley, Ledley, he's only got one knee, it's now a liability!"
"Worst display of mis-placed passing I have seen for many a year"
"Where has all that superb team-wwork and great football gone?"
"When are we going to sort out our set pieces?"

Like I said, "Snap out of it, Spurs!"
