This month's figures for the exclusive "Spursometer" are a considerable improvement upon January. We have of course played only three games, but we unbeaten, although our disappointing draw on Monday night against Fulham leaves fans like me on a bit of a low and pessimistic going into today's first game of March against West Ham.

I was at a Spurs Trust meeting this week, where one of those present described himself as feeling at his lowest since 1972, and he included our relegation season in that remark. It is a surprising comment in view of an unbeaten run that includes an excellent performance at Stamford Bridge, and a convincing win against Sunderland.

However, I understand the view, because of our striker shortage, fans can forsee failure to make Europe, and coupled with the price hike last season, it leaves us dissatisfied. Hardly a day goes by without Spurs getting bad press, the latest being that Steffen Freund is even willing to take a pay cut to stay at Spurs, but apparently is being shut out by Glenn Hoddle who does not seem to have the greatest man-management techniques around.

We have only three games in March. Today's game against West Ham is pivotal. We can beat Liverpool at home on March 16th, and by the time we go to the Reebock Stadium on Monday 24th March, we will have clearer picture of our end of season fate.

...and finally - you can compare this month's figures with last month, and last year.
