Writing the report on this month's form comes at a particularly bad time, as the hours, nay minutes!, are ticking away and Spurs have failed to sign a striker before the January sales are closed. Of course, when you read this, we may have secured a real big name to play beside (sorry that should be instead of) Robbie Keane.

The fact is that even with Robbie in the side, our score ratio for the games in January has been below par. The figure of 43% is nothing short of poor. The dismal show at St. Mary's on January 4th has made a big dent in the performance figures, but that is the fault of the team, and not the "Spursometer"!

Only the mark for effort is anything near reasonable, and I have to report that these are the third dismal figures of the season so far, being aligned with September and November. September was marred by three defeats in four games, including the 3-0 at home to Middlesbrough, whilst November saw us lose three on the trot, including that defeat at Burnley, before recovering our composure against Leeds.

As for this month, we all know only too well about the one game that has caused a major blip, but the fact is that we played 5 and lost 3 games. Not good enough overall, is it? Chelsea tomorrow (weather permitting), no new striker, 8th in the league - the fans (including this one!) are restless.

...and finally - you can compare this month's figures with last month, and last year.
