Gareth Bale's best goal of the 2012-13 season
The recent Spurs Odyssey competition to vote for Gareth Bale's best Spurs goal of the 2012-13 season has now ended, and a winner has been chosen at random, and notified.
The full list of Bale's goals and a brief description can be seen here - http://www.spursodyssey.com/1213/bgoals.html
The clear winners, as voted by you were as follows:-
First - Goal 19 - This was my favourite! It was a last minute winner in the 3-2 at West Ham. Bale had only just pulled himself to his feet after being fouled, but after a play-on by Howard Webb, the ball was returned to Bale who hit a sublime shot into the keeper's top left corner. The trajectory of the shot was right at me, and I saw it all the way. If it hadn't hit the net, the ball would have hit me! This goal won 60.9% of the vote.
Second - Goal 12 - Bale scored a real quality goal in a 1-1 draw at Norwich on 30th January. Made an amazing run through the midfield, at great speed, before firing an exquisite shot across Bunn in goal. It was the equalizing goal too. (10.5% of votes cast)
Third - Goal 22 - 30th March at Swansea, and Bale scores after Vertonghen's pass; one touch and a short back-lift and the ball was in the net! (8.1% of votes cast)
Gareth's last day goal against Sunderland came a very close fourth, and votes were cast for 10 of the short-listed 16 goals.
Thanks to all those who took part, and congratulations to the lucky winner of free DVDs supplied by ILC media
