Once again Spurs lost out on a goal decision where contact was the issue. However based on their performance throughout the game there can't be any complaints regarding the result.
Both teams made two changes from last weekend's matches. Pedro Porro returned from injury to replace Spence who wasn't in the match squad. Solanke started with Sarr among the replacements.
Danso was on the bench wasn't used until the 90th minute so presumably he is not fully fit. Spence's absence suggests that he too is injured.
For Fulham Andersen was indisposed so Diop came in. Oscar Bobb who had been signed from Manchester City in January made his first Premier League start replacing the injured Kevin.
Like the home defeat in November Fulham took an early lead. The ball pinged around the Spurs box with four Fulham players having a touch before Wilson scored with a shot. Spurs immediately appealed because they felt that Jimenez had pushed Dragusin in the build-up. As with last week's incident VAR saw no reason to overturn the referee's decision.
In both cases had the decision gone the other way VAR would likely have taken the same stance. These situations are grey areas. There is no suggestion of bias against the referee in either case. However the situation arose because Spurs failed to close down the move earlier.
A Palhinha effort from the D was deflected for a corner from which Pedro Porro's effort was too high.
Fulham moved the ball towards the Spurs goal. It fell to Iwobi just outside the box. Spurs allowed him to much time on the ball and he scored with a good effort which went in off the left post. Solanke should have done better in tracking him.
Spurs did mount some attacks during the remainder of the half. However the Fulham defenders were well organised and intervened before the situations became dangerous.
Kolo Muani set up Bissouma who took too long and his shot was blocked. Kolo Muani and Palhinha also had shots blocked by Bassey.
The half time score didn't flatter Fulham. There were no changes at the break.
Smith Rowe made a good run and his diagonal shot across the goal was just wide.
Bassey was dispossessed and Gallagher had the opportunity to create something from the right. His cross was poor and Solanke couldn't make anything of it.
After 57 minutes Tudor withdrew Gallagher, Simons and Kolo Muani replacing them with Sarr, Tel and Richarlison. Gallagher and Simons had been fairly ineffective.
Iwobi put Smith Rowe in the clear and Vicario made a fine save.
Spurs attacked down the left. Tel did well before setting up Gray. He crossed and Richarlison scored with a header. He tried to grab the ball afterward to restart the game quickly. Bassey who was holding the ball resisted and both players were booked.
For a few minutes it looked as though Spurs might get back in the game and the away supporters were vocal.
Then Silva brought on Chukwueze, Cairney and Muniz for Wilson, Smith Rowe and Jimenez. The changes had the desired effect and Fulham stabilised. Spurs never seriously threatened for the remainder of the match.
This was only the second time that Fulham performed the league double over Spurs. The previous occasion was during the 2003-04 season.
The only good news for Spurs was that six of the other teams in the lower region of the table also lost this weekend. Wolves were the only exception.
Igor Tudor was an interim appointment on the basis of his previous experience of having a significant impact in the short term. On the five previous occasions when in this situation he won five of the first two matches drawing four and losing only one. This time he has lost both matches. Spurs haven't played well in either match and deserved to lose both. The new-manager bounce of a supposed short-term specialist is nowhere in evidence.
Spurs league form in 2026 is dreadful. In ten matches this year they have drawn four and lost six including the last four. They are at the bottom of a 2026 league table with only four points three less than any other team. On April 15th they travel to Anfield which is usually an inhospitable venue so a win in the midweek home game against Crystal Palace is essential.
