Following last night's stories about Jermain Defoe's injury - yet to be confirmed by Spurs - Spurs Odyssey understands that he has had one scan, and will have another tomorrow (SUnday), when the swelling has gone down.
Defoe does have a suspected fractured meta-tarsal.
It is thought he will not be out for the season, but we will not know till Sunday how bad the injury really is. The news is not good though and it does mean more than three weeks out of action
It is a blow of course that Defoe will be missing, but for tomorrow's game, it does give an opportunity to play Modric "in the hole" beind Pavlyuchenko, and for Wilson Palacios to make his debut beside Didier Zokora. Spurs also have a two week break from league football after next week's game against the gooners. Significantly, Spurs have yet to announce team news for today's game.
