Players of the Year - recent history

Harry Kane and the Spurs Odyssey Player of the year history.

Harry Kane won three club Player of the Season awards, and has won this year's Spurs Odyssey vote for just the second time. Bearing in mind Harry's fantastic goal returns that might come as a surprise. His final figures for this season are 23 Premier League goals and 33 club goals. Add to that 14 Premier League and 3 other assists and there is no doubt Harry Kane has had yet another great season on an individual level for his club. Harry won his third Golden Boot, and also the Premier League's playmaker award.

In his first full season (2014-15) when he made 37 starts and 12 substitute appearances in all games for Spurs, Harry scored 21 Premier League goals and 31 club goals in all. He was our runner-up to Hugo Lloris for player of the season.

In 2015-16, when he wore the number 10 shirt, Harry scored 25 league goals (winning his first Golden Boot) and 28 in all, but he couldn't beat Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris or Mousa Dembele in the player of the season vote.

Harry won the Golden Boot again the following season (29 goals in the league - 35 club goals). You'll be surprised to know that Danny Rose was our player of the season, although he only made 21 starts in all Spurs games. The club confirmed at the end of this season that Danny (who was totally cold-shouldered this season) would leave, as his contract finishes in June. Toby Alderweireld, "Super" Jan, and even Victor Wanyama finished above Harry in 2016-17.

In 2017-18, "one of our own" scored 41 club goals, including 30 in the league, but he couldn't pip Mo Salah in the Golden Boot or Jan Vertonghen in our Player of the Season vote. Harry was runner-up to Jan though. Super Jan Vertonghen pipped Harry again two years ago (24 club goals, 17 in the league), but of course our talisman had missed a few games.

Last season's goal return was also affected by injury (24 club goals, 18 in the league), but "Our Harry" did pip Hugo Lloris in our poll. Remember, our award is based upon the accumulated grades given over the whole season.

Spurs Odyssey has recorded a "Player of the Season" since the 2008-09 season.
