Kane seeking Premier League goal number 150!

Harry Kane will be hoping for a opportunity to score his 150th Premier League goal. With goal number 149 last week, Harry joined the Premier League's top ten scorers, drawing level in tenth place with Les Ferdinand. The last time Harry scored at the Hawthorns was in January 2015, when Spurs won 3-0 and Harry scored twice, once from the penalty spot. Hugo Lloris captained the side. Ben Davies and Eric Dier were on the bench.

Now that our opening fixture against Everton has dropped off the last six games form guide, Spurs have an unbeaten league record in that time. We even managed our first home win against Brighton last week, but of course we have won all three of our away games so far. The first two of those wins were sensational at Southampton and Old Trafford, whereas the last game at Turf Moor was something of a grind. We must hope for a return to exciting winning form at The Hawthorns tomorrow.

Slaven Bilic's West Brom are still looking for a first league win, and will be determined to improve upon their poor showing at Craven Cottage on Monday tea-time. Fulham climbed out of the bottom three with a 2-0 win and even looked quite solid at the back against what was an impotent "Baggies" attack.

West Brom were promoted from the Championship for a record fifth time. With 8 games left West Brom led Leeds on goal difference, but faded a little towards the end of the season, winning just three of those last 8 games. Leeds won the Championship by 10 points, but West Brom finished second, two points above Brentford, who lost their play-off final against Fulham.

The last time we played West Brom was a disappointing 1-0 defeat when the "Baggies"' goal' was scored by former Spur Jake Livermore in added time. We had scored in each of our previous 34 games that season and scored in our last two games, so that was our one failure to score in 37 games. We did finish fourth above Arsenal who had been the previous team to keep a clean sheet against us that season.

Jake Livermore is now West Brom's club captain and has played 141 league games for the club including all seven Premier League games this season. Jake was in the Spurs team which lost at Newcastle on 18th August, 2012 when we lost 2-1. Gareth Bale played for Spurs that day, and Harry Kane made his Premier League debut as a substitute for the last five minutes. Harry spent the rest of that season on loan at Norwich, then Leicester. Jake played his last Spurs game in March 2013 in a 4-1 Europa League defeat against Inter at the San Siro. He went on loan to Hull in a move which became permanent before his move to West Brom in January 2017.

In September, West Brom signed former Spurs Academy goalkeeper David Button from Brighton. Button has a two year contract and plans to challenge Sam Johnstone and Jonathan Bond for a starting spot. Now 31, and born in Stevenage, Herts, Button's only Spurs first team appearance was as a late substitute in a 5-1 League Cup win over Doncaster in August 2009. That was also the game in which Danny Rose made his senior Spurs debut in his home town. Danny has now been sidelined by Jose Mourinho and played in the under-23 side yesterday. David Button had successful spells at both Brentford and Fulham before his move to Brighton where he has understudied Matty Ryan.

West Brom also signed Grady Diangana on a full contract from West Ham. Diangana had been on loan last season, and his departure from the "Hammers" upset club captain Mark Noble to the extent he commented on Twitter. Another loan signing made permanent was last season's "Player of the Year" playmaker Matheus Pereira from Sporting Lisbon.

Slaven Bilic also acquired 36-year-old former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on a one-year contract. Ivanovic had recently played for Zenit St. Petersburg. Sheffield United's Callum Robinson was signed permanently. The "Baggies" also have 20-year-old mdfielder Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea, and Benfica midfielder Filip Krovinovic on a second season-long loan deal.

West Brom's best result was surely their 3-3 draw against Chelsea in which they took a 3-0 half-time lead. Assuming Bilic will have given his men the proverbial rocket after their defeat at Fulham on Monday night, we should not expect an easy ride tomorrow.

Jose Mourinho will, be missing Erik Lamela who has a foot injury, but should be fit after the International break. Jose is hoping that Sergio Reguilon will have recovered from a bout of 'flu'. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will no doubt start in place of Winks. We might see a debut for Joe Rodon. This is another PPV game for Spurs, and kicks off at 12 noon. My prediction is a 3-0 win for Spurs, to include that 150th Premier League goal for Kane.

This will be referee Andy Madley's first Spurs game in the middle, although he has been fourth official or VAR for previous games. Mr Madley is the older brother of Bobby Madley, who resigned from the Premier League list a couple of years ago. I note that Bobby Madley is now officiating in England again in Leagues One and Two. Andy Madley's one Premier League game so far this season was Leicester's 3-0 home defeat by West Ham last month.
